Rx for america - White - 500w

It’s past time for America to restore our core Judeo-Christian family values. As a pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment social and fiscal conservative, I know that others will only follow us when we lead by example. Please join me in Standing Up For America!

Prescription for America: We will pass laws to assure that our courts stop discriminating against those who believe in the values upon which our country was founded. We will allow anybody who believes differently (including atheists, agnostics, Hindus, Muslims who renounce Sharia Law …) to live legally among us as long as they fully accept that while we will not discriminate against them, we will not change our country’s values and laws to fit their beliefs.

Ronald Reagan had it right. You only achieve security in an insecure world by investing in a world-class military. The world is a safer place when America leads from the front rather than from behind against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Prescription for America: America must demonstrate that we will relentlessly search out and destroy all sponsors and enablers of terrorism and fully back our allies, specifically including Israel in its fight against terrorism.

The federal government has stolen too much power from the states. And too much money. We must return Constitutionally reserved powers back to the states, by getting the federal government out of our classrooms, our businesses and our health care.

Prescription for America: It is time to cut the federal Departments of Education, Energy, Labor, Interior, Housing & Urban Development and the Environmental Protection Agency and return those functions to the states.

Washington must not live by different rules than the rest of us! Short of a national emergency, our annual budget must only spend up to the revenue we annually generate. How can anybody disagree!

Prescription for America: We must pass the Balanced Budget Amendment. Until it passes, Members of Congress should not get paid unless they pass a budget that decreases America’s annual budget deficit by at least $100 billion per year for each successive annual budget until we reach a balanced budget.

Ours should be second to none. It is the line between freedom and failure. We must stand with our friends, punish our enemies, and make it clear we will no longer fund those who don’t stand with us.

Prescription for America: There is no budgetary item more important than our National Security. As a sovereign nation, we must have secure borders and we must have the tools to root out and annihilate terrorists … without sacrificing our liberty.

As a former Air Force Captain, member of the American Legion, and Life Member of the Military Officers Association of America, I take great offense to veterans being dishonored by long waiting lines at VAs and having to beg for benefits they have earned.

Prescription for America: We will reform the VA and assure that veterans receive our best, not our left overs, including providing needed mental health services and first class treatment for combat veterans. All veterans will receive vouchers giving them the choice of seeking healthcare at the VA or from private providers … this will cause the VA to get better and become the provider of choice. We will make it clear to Washington and future generations that our veterans, America’s heroes, will never be mistreated or forgotten ever again.

The job producers are the backbone of a healthy American economy, yet government seems more intent on picking winners and losers and punishing success rather than rewarding it. We’ve had enough.

Prescription for America: We will cut the needless regulations and punitive taxes, enact tort reform, return education to the states, invest in our decaying infrastructure and repeal & replace the senseless burden of Obamacare.

This is a no-brainer. We made a promise. We will keep it. It is not just a matter of conscience, it is a sacred trust. Stop playing politics with people’s lives, and their pocketbooks.

Prescription for America: There will be no changes for seniors or anyone close to retiring. But we will enact necessary reforms for those currently under 40 to ensure that benefits are still there when they reach retirement.

I am against it. It has become a direct federal takeover of our children and their future. Our children deserve more opportunity, not more government.

Prescription for America: For over four years, I have called for an end to the federal Department of Education and all federal government intrusion into education. States have the right to set their own standards but local school boards should maintain full control over selection of curricula.

A sovereign nation must have secure borders. Build the wall. This is not about having compassion or not giving in, but it is about putting America – and every legal citizen here – first.

Prescription for America: There can be no amnesty or pathway to citizenship for those who break the law, or illegally make the choice to come to our country. While children of illegal aliens born in the United States are currently considered citizens, we must seek a Supreme Court ruling on that interpretation of our Constitution. Until then, such children will receive the same benefits as other citizens but they will in no way function as “anchor babies” or facilitate “chain migration.” Illegal members of their families will receive no unique benefits and if the family wants to stay together, they can take the (citizen) baby with them when the illegal family members leave our country. We will not allow chain immigration or family preference for illegals already here. Illegals must not receive any government benefits and businesses will be required to use E-Verify and pay a penalty if they hire illegals.

America has untapped energy reserves. We should not have to rely on our enemies for our energy needs.

Prescription for America: We must safely increase domestic production of oil and natural gas, incentivize development of a process to clean coal byproducts, streamline expansion of existing nuclear energy facilities and incentivize companies to create the energy technology of the future and/or increase the efficiency of existing renewable energy resources. And by all means, build the Keystone Pipeline to expand access to existing resources.

It is time to get back to being citizen legislators. As Members of Congress plan for their future instead of America’s future and spend more time raising campaign dollars than doing their job, nothing gets done. We need to break down the pyramid of power that rewards special interests over citizens, and bad behavior over solutions.

Prescription for America: Members of Congress must live by the same rules as the rest of us and receive the same healthcare and other benefits as other federal workers, nothing extra. We must pass term limits. (I have self-limited myself to 8 years but I believe 12 years of total state service and 12 years of total federal service is the right number.) We must eliminate all pensions for those who serve in elected office. (Pay elected officials a reasonable salary; but stop them from choosing what office to run for based upon pension planning.) And we must eliminate the ability to ever serve as a paid lobbyist at the federal level after serving as a Member of the US House of Representatives or as a US Senator. Additionally, we must pass the “Stop Act” so Congress can get back to doing what we sent them there to do: their job rather than raising funds for their next election.

Honor it. Protect it. Govern according to it. Or amend it … but do not ignore it or reinterpret it to suit somebody’s new progressive world view. Amen!
